I PLEDGE TO NIGERIA MY COUNTRY
By; Johnson gabriel
I am a Nigerian who believes in Nigeria not Biafra. I will
serve Nigeria with all my strength not
to fight Nigeria with all my strength , in order to uphold honor and glory.
No matter what people say, no matter what they do, I strongly
belief that every individual who embarks a journey, must have a mind set. Either a wanderer or a
mad person, something triggers your movement.
Nigeria as a nation, has embarked a journey which has been fifty
five years now but yet, her destination has
not been reached. The movement seems to
be a comparison of a boat which set sail
on the ocean whereby both the boat and the individual who paddles the boat,
faces the hardest time of their lives. But note that, for someone to set the
sail of a boat on the ocean , there must be something he has in mind that gives him the vigor though, it seems a mission impossible but I belief
has he embarks this unbelievable mission
where he is subjected to stumble and struggle, on the same spot of the sea,
fortunately for him, he may meet an helper only if he realizes that he is on a
wrong mission.
Nigeria has a country has been in this same situation for quite some years and yet, no mission accomplished. Some blame
those who fought for our independence, some blame our leaders and some even blame
God for making them be a part of Nigeria. They fail to realize why they are
Nigerians but they only fight and
struggle to go apart.
I want them in this regard to reason that, if Nigeria is 55yrs
and yet no achievement of what to be described as a solid economy as a strong
nation even titled the giant of Africa , what gives them the assurance
that if they go apart, in the next 55yrs to come they will get it right? And plus
the years they have spent being Nigerians,
it will now be an over 100yrs of suffering!!!
They should please note another thing that, its not how
small a country is that makes her successful but how organized and mature they
can account their activities. There are
some smaller country than Nigeria that we do not even hear of their names till date been successful in any particular
area of their economy sectors.
Taking a look at Nigeria today, I really see it to have a mission and I tend to prefix it with “reliable” which makes it a “reliable-
mission”.
It behooves on us as citizens of our beloved Nigeria, not to
blame our leaders who fought our
independence to existence, nor our present leaders even not God but, to come
alive and fight to life our dead morale for a brighter assurance of a better
NIGERIA!!!
