Nigeria: Maigari, National Football Federation SACKED.

maigari. Abuja — A Plateau State High Court has sacked the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Aminu Maigari, all Executive members and the Congress. Justice P.L. Lot granted an Order of Interlocutory Injunction, restraining the NFF Executive board and Congress, from continuing to run the affairs of football in the country, until the Motion on Notice before the court is determined. The court therefore, ordered that senior members of the civil service in the NFF should manage the affairs of football in the country within such period. Hearing on the Motion on Notice will come up on July 11, 2014. Meanwhile, Sports Minister and Chairman of National Sports Commission Dr. Tammy Danagogo has reacted immediately to the court order by appointing Lawrence Longyir Katken as the acting Secretary General of the NFF. Lagos: Soldiers sabotage town as BRT Hits Army Officer

BRT buses on fire An accident involving a soldier  in the early hours of  Friday at Pamgroove, Ikorodu Road, in Lagos,       has irked the  wrath of  colleagues. It was gathered that a Lagos BRT  commercial bus had hit a soldier on motorcycle, in what soon attracted other soldiers to the scene . An eyewitness account has it  that the soldiers have been  stopping BRT buses    and  beating their drivers as well as discharging passengers. Some of the buses were said to have been damaged by the  soldiers. Many passengers   and other innocent people  were said to have been beaten by the protesting soldiers. It was not  clear as at the time of filing this report  if the soldier involved in the accident died. But  following the incident, traffic has been building up  in the area in the past few hours.
